On July 26th Northern Ireland will take the next step towards the upcoming Digital Radio Switchover with the Switch-on of a National DAB Transmitter. The new National DAB Transmitter will provide listeners in Northern Ireland with a new range of stations on their DAB Radios with improved sound quality among the many other clever digital features that can be availed from a DAB signal. 

15 New DAB Stations!

DAB listeners in Northern Ireland will be able be able to access 14 National Commercial Stations as a result of the new transmitter: Absolute Radio, Absolute 80s, Absolute Radio 90s, BFBS, Classic FM, Jazz FM, Kiss, Planet Rock, Premier UK, Christian Radio, Smooth Radio, Smooth Radio 70s, talkSPORT, Team Rock and UCB. This of course is in addition to the existing BBC Radio Stations already on digital such as BBC Radio Ulster, BBC Radio 1Xtra, BBC Radio 4Extra and BBC 6 music, and local digital stations such as Downtown Radio and Citybeat.
