Sharp Quattron; Red, Green,Blue and…. Yellow?
Alot of noise has been made in regards of Sharp’s new Quattron Aquos LED TV Series, but what’s it really all about? DR Jack Lewis, a PHD Neurobiology boffin at the University of London has stated that “Quattron is the first TV to display colour as your eyes see it” bold words indeed. Let us explain a little.
Our brains can create every colour in the rainbow, it does this by making comparisons by gradiating between two colours. The amount of red light to green and the strength of blue to yellow across the colour spectrum. This calculation as it were takes place across the back of the eye, in an area the fovea, the colour sensitive region at the centre of the retina.
The comparisons between blue/yellow and red/green are then combined, and provide our perception of colour.
Sharp’s Quattron technology processes all four channels of light so that your eyes have exactly what they require to create the most complete and convincing television picture to date. So sit back and enjoy the yellows, golds, cyans, magentas and many other fantastic colours you haven’t really seen before!
The Quattron Range
